Bassist Albey Balgochian, plays a visionary style of bass. Like a great many improvisational artists, his background in blues, r&b, funk, reggae, and world beat have a profound influence on his sound.

Part of the downtown music movement since the early 1970's, his avant-garde funk bottom is a dynamic driving force on NYC's improvisational/experimental music scene, from his own ensembles to The Secret Music Society, to the Cecil Taylor Trio & Big Band to the Nation of We.
